In god we trust - The rest we test

A bug in comprehension reviews as a part of the testing process "It's not a bug, it's a bug in comprehension..." A perfectly amusing phrase from the head of the development team in an organization I worked in during a discussion with the project manager. But, what it's all about? The organizational culture varies from company to company, as are the types of tests required by the QA team. There are quite a few companies in which the tester is required to examine the quality of the characterization documents (Specs, FD's and User stories) prior to transferring it to development. In the organizations in which I have worked, no Change Request, User Story, is being transferred to development without the approval of the tester assigned to the project, who is a key figure in the "life cycle" of the product. משחקי תפקידים - לא מילה גסה שימוש בדמויות, (Testing Personas או User Personas) הוא כלי נפוץ  בעולם הבדיקות. כל דמות מייצגת אחוז מסויים (Segments) מאוכלוסיית משתמשי הקצה של המוצר אותו בודקים. בדרך זו נוכל ליצור תרחישי שימוש אפשריים, ולחשוב על מקרי קצה תוך התחשבות בהרגלים ואופיים של הדמויות אותן נאמץ. לפני כחודש נפל בחלקי הכבוד להשתתף בפאנל בודקים מעניין. במהלך הפגישה התפתחה שיחה בין שני מנהלי בדיקות, שתפסה את מלוא תשומת ליבי. הם דיברו על שיטת בדיקות שנקראת Testing Personas. מצאתי את עצמי מרותק מהשיחה, מכיוון שזה בדיוק מאותם הדברים שגורמים לי כל כך לאהוב את מה שאני עושה. הפרווילגיה להשתמש בדימיון, להתקיל, לחקור, לחשוב על הדברים הבלתי צפויים שלא טריויאליים למישהו אחר. למחרת, מלא בחוויות, החלטתי לרשום מאמר בנושא ולשתף את ה POV שלי על השיטה. במה תורמת לנו שיטת העבודה הנ"ל לתכנון וביצוע הבדיקות?  Testing Personas - מעניקות לנו את האפשרות "לחוות" את המערכת דרך עיניהם ומציאות עולמם, כשכל אחת מהן מייצגת אחוז מסויים מכלל אוכלוסיית המשתמשים של המוצר. בדרך זו נוכל לנסות לח...

"באג בהבנה " - סקירה אפיונית  (review)  כחלק מתהליך הבדיקות . " זה לא באג , זה באג בהבנה ..." משפט משעשע בהחלט שנאמר ע " י ראש צוות הפיתוח בארגון בו עבדתי , במהלך דיון עם מנהל הפרויקט . אך מה עומד מאחוריו ? התרבות הארגונית משתנה בין חברה לחברה , וכך גם סוגי הבדיקות אליהם נדרשים אנשי ה QA . ישנן לא מעט חברות בהן הבודק נדרש לבחון את איכות האפיון בטרם העברתו לפיתוח . בארגונים בהם אני עבדתי , שום אפיון , Change Request, User Story , לא עובר לפיתוח בלי אישורו של הבודק האחראי על הפרויקט , המהווה בורג מרכזי ב life cycle של המוצר . חוסר תיאום ואפיונים לוקים בחסר , משמע תוצר סופי שונה מכוונת המשורר , עיכוב בזמנים , פיצ ' רים שעלולים להיות מפותחים שלא לטעמו \ צרכיו של הלקוח , אזורים במערכת שלא יבצעו את הפעולה לשמה נועדו וויכוחים זוללי זמן על האם זה באג או שהאפיון לא היה חד משמעי וברור מספיק . מדוע הבודק נדרש לסקור אפיונים? בין יתר הדברים אנחנו התווך המקשר בין הלקוח , מנהל הפרויקט והפיתוח , מה שאומר שעלינו להבין את צרכיו של כל אחד מהצדדים . הבנ...
